She was arrested for giving the police a false name and birthdate when they were called to the apartment where she was staying. In total, she was charged with three counts of failure to identify. She either plead or was found guilty, sentenced to 85 days in jail and fines and court costs, which she appears to have paid.
According to Buzzfeed, "For years, Charity had targeted devout, maternal types with regrets and a
weakness for lost, young souls. Women all over Texas, as well as North
Carolina, New Jersey, and Maryland, said they had combed Charity’s hair,
helped her with her homework, and given her a bed to sleep in. Up until
her arrest, Charity kept in close contact with her collection of online
“mothers,” from a housekeeper in Nevada to a pastor in Ohio, whom she
found through Facebook searches (“pastor” + “teen girls” + “hope”)." The same article implied she was scamming people for love, not money.
Clearly, she's a very damaged person that Child Protective Services failed horribly. She has no newer charges and is not in custody of the state of Texas.
