TJ Lane

While I write crime blogs frequently, often daily and I believe in rehabilitation and redemption, I hope TJ Lane does not receive one piece of mail in prison for the rest of his life (I'm aware there are deranged women who WILL profess undying love, etc.) I for one will never publish his address due to his lack of remorse or his view on his need to be reformed.
What he did during sentencing and his subsequent escape was unforgivable. He did it all for infamy which is painfully obvious.

His original crime was a shooting at Chardon High School where he killed three students and injured three more with a .22 caliber hand gun. I'm sorry he felt that he was socially awkward or whatever his issue was, but murder is never the answer. He has zero remorse for his actions (which he has as much said) and zero compassion for the families of those he killed and injured.

I have a decade's worth of experience in writing to prisoners. There are some in prison that can not be reformed and they will tell you as much. I did it out of a desire to provide christian fellowship only (not romance or friendship without Christianity or encouragement). I had one man tell he didn't want to worship God, he wanted to be God. I therefore chose to no longer right him as that is a direct line into his way of thinking. He enjoyed killing and playing God. TJ Lane needs to rot alone in his maximum security prison where he should stay for eternity.

Young Ladies?

I'm sorry, but I simply don't believe that parents and society are teaching girls what they need to know about dating, relationships, sex and more. Watch one season of paternity court (excluding the older ladies behaving badly), divorce court, or Maury. While these would be extreme cases no doubt or they wouldn't make the cut, they are a canary in the coal mine to a point.

Yes, young ladies can sleep with whomever they like. That's a given, however, that doesn't make it a good idea. It's an even worse idea when you are doing it without being on birth control and using condomns. If you are not careful, you could end up with a baby and not knowing which encounter resulted in parenthood. I've seen as many as sixteen men tested for one baby. YES sometimes the father's are just paranoid or attempting to shirk responsibility, but those cases are the exception rather then the rule. I watched one delusional young lady "reject" the DNA results as a deceased man WAS in fact the father, even though science proved otherwise.

Every young girl needs to know that a baby will not "keep" a man, especially if he has other children he does not support or parent. No, yours will not be the "one", nor will he settle down because you are special. Watch one season of Fatal Attraction and you will quickly learn many women are in fact killed because they are pregnant with a child the father doesn't want and she refuses to abort. According to the World Health Organization, "Evidence from the USA suggests that intimate partner violence during pregnancy is a risk factor for women’s increased risk of being killed by an intimate partner. For example, an examination of police and medical examiner records in 11 US cities showed that pregnancy significantly increased women’s risk of becoming a victim of intimate partner homicide and that men who abuse their partners during pregnancy seem to be particularly dangerous and more likely to commit homicide". Encourage young women to use birth control regularly and protection.

It is "unfair" that women with many sexual partners are judged, while men appear not to be (though they are judged for mistreating women). The truth is a man is less likely to consider you the "one" if he knows you have been very promiscuous. Women are rarely lacking for male companionship. Sex is easy to come by, no pun intended, but if you are looking to settle down, marry and have children, consider your goals when deciding whether or not you should hook up or have anonymous sex. It does actually matter. You are certainly free to celebrate your liberation, but don't be surprised if it affects your ability to meet specific goals.

You body is yours and it is in fact special. It's not something you want to share with just anyone. Not everyone is worthy of your time and efforts. Get to know yourself and your worth before seeking out a romantic partner. If you can't and don't appreciate yours strengths and character, why would anyone else? To be more precise, why would you attract someone who would? You attract what you ARE, not who you want. No matter who together you seem on the outside, all your inner demons will attract someone in the same position. That's simply how it works.

As women, we need to worry less about our sexual freedoms and do better.

Sanity and Civility?

This is not my only blog. I blog about crime - those featured on crime shows like For My Man and Snapped, as well as crimes that are not national news stories. There is no shortage of things to write about. Every day at least three or four stories come to light that I take note of to write about as time allows. There are so many stories out there, my blogs (multiples) are barely a drop in the bucket.

Today I heard about Cadesha Michelle Bishop, a twenty five year old Las Vegas woman. She was on public transportation bus with a seventy four year old man with the last name of Fournier. She had been cursing out other passengers and he told her to be nice to the other passengers. That's ALL he said. He used no racial slurs nor curse words. When the bus stopped and Fournier moved to exit the bus, Bishop got behind him and pushed him so hard he never touched the steps of the bus and struck his head on the sidewalk. He initially refused medical help but later went to the hospital. He died a month later of his injuries. Bishop's life is essentaially over as Nevada has stiff penalties for murder. She was clearly visible in the video of the event.

All over someone telling her to be nice!

Young people have zero respect for anyone - elders, authority etc. Everyone is fair game for their rage. I would still definitely do something if I saw someone being assaulted (I am not strong enough to intervene and I don't know how to fight) but I would call 911 and take photos of the suspect. I would do something. However, correcting someone for bad behavior in public I will not do for the simple fact that you do not know what others are capable of anymore. You can not trust even in front of witnesses, that you will not be assaulted. The odds are you will.

Think carefully before you speak, it could just get you killed in this crazy world we live in.

Beatrice Camper

The story of Beatrice, and Terry Lee Camper and John Murray is a truly twisted story.

Beatrice met John Murry in New York City, and the two fell in love. He was in essence a thug who went to prison
Terry Lee Camper
for murder. Terry met Beatrice when she had children. He took good care of her children and worked hard to provide for a family he didn't create. Unbeknownst to Terry, Beatrice was carrying on a passionate affair with John Murray via letters and phone calls from state prison. Terry wasn't exciting enough for her. The two conspired to kill him for his life insurance and then go on to produce pornography.

The truth is Beatrice had a good man in Terry. He was a hard worker and a good provider and father. He lacked the danger that John offered her and it cost him his life. Her crime story was featured on snapped and fatal attraction.

Gentlemen, especially good men need to pay attention to who they date and fall in love with.  If a woman has a history of dating thugs and having children with them, they will always prefer a bad man over a good one. The chances of being used for money is very great. Bad boys might be fun, but they are typically not good providers due to their criminal records. They also spend a good deal of time behind bars.

Beatrice, who believes in self preservation ultimately plead guilty and testified against John Murray. For her role in the murder, she was sentenced to fifteen years to life. You can view Terry's memorial here.

Tiffany Moss

As I write this, the jury is out, well back in fifteen minutes, but still deliberating.

At first I thought she wanted to receive the death penalty period. Then it was get the death penalty to avoid being put in general population. Unlike male inmates who kill people who hurt children, women torture them psychologically etc. She would be terrorized daily. A lot of women lately have had their death sentences commuted to life. Too bad for her she didn't look into Frances Newton. She killed her children and was executed by the state of Texas....

Then I saw her family (mother and sister) testify and I realized the one thing they are all about is themselves and their own blood relatives. They both clearly lied for her and the fact that her sister helped her without regard to her own welfare (being charged with accessory or abetting). That's why she was so horrified at the thought that her children would go into foster care. In her mind, she would and could hurt a child that was not her own blood. She thinks foster parents also think that way, which clearly they do not.

Then I thought she would pull some Perry Mason moment during closing to cast guilty on Eman and think she would get off of the charges. She declined to make a closing argument.

I was puzzled.

I had seen articles where she said she was placing her fate in God's hands, and I suppose that's exactly what she was doing, period, end of discussion.

She competed with a child for the love of a man and won. Poor Emani is dead, and now her own children are in essence orphans. Besides the obvious depravity of killing a child, I can't help but wonder how and why she saw this as a victory. The dumbest adult in the world can still run circles around children. They simply do not have the ability to be malicious in the way an adult can.

No victory here. Nothing about this makes her special or important. Especially when you consider that Emani was to her father nothing more then a possession, not a person. He kept her from her birth mother, who clearly was not a saint, but because it was a power move and when his mother offered to keep her as well, he declined. Emani was HIS and he would do what he pleases with her.

So very many people failed this poor girl. Time will tell what she receives, though there is very little speculation about the verdict. She offered no proof, asked no questions and made neither an opening or closing statement. She is almost assuredly going to be found guilty, the only question is whether or not she receives the death penalty. I am against the death penalty but every now and again a case occurs were it seems reasonable. The last case I felt this way about was Jesse Dotson. This is also how I feel about this case, cruel beyond words.

Update:

Tiffany was found guilty. The trial moved to sentencing immediately following, because she had no attorney to object and prepare. No victim impact statements were made. The jury deliberated and came back unanimously with death. The state has set an execution date between June 7 and 14, 2019.

In retrospect, Tiffany was very proud of what she had done. She smirked and fought back a smile throughout the entire trial. She looked shocked and on the verge of tears when the death penalty was read. I realized then that she had, to the best of her ability, to play helpless (and defensless) female. Eman had bought into her act, why shouldn't they? She was clearly unaware that it was a transparent act.

Before there was Tiffany and Emani Moss, there was Victoria and Emmanuel Foster...

Tiffany Moss is currently on trial for capital murder in Georgia and could be sentenced to death if found guilty. Her husband, the biological father of Emani Moss has taken a plea deal and received life in prison. Tiffany stands accused of starving Emani to death. The cause of death was starvation, however there is ample evidence her life was in fact a living hell.

In 2015, in Michigan, Victoria Foster left her seven year old son, Emmanuel, in the care of her 57 bruises on his body, gangrene on his feet and pneumoniaboyfriend, Cory Rimson with instructions that were basically to provide hospice care as the child was near death. At the time of his death, he weighed 27 pounds at seven years of age. The medical examiner testified that he had 57 bruises on his body, gangrene on his feet and pneumonia.

The biggest difference in these cases is biology. Victoria was the biological mother of Emmanual where Tiffany was only a step Mother.  Emani's mother suffered domestic violence at the hands of her boyfriend, Eman who sought custoday. Like most victims of domestic violence, if the father does not beat on the child, they assume it is safter for everyone involved to leave things as they were. It is also not unusual for abusive men to get with a controlling woman and change their entire behavior. With one woman, they will be brutal and controlling and with the next, they will be submissive and abused. It makes little to no sense whatsoever, but for those who live in domestic violence, it is logical.

Tiffany chose to represent herself in court. She declined to make an opening statement and has not asked any questions of prosecution witnesses. She has made zero objections to evidence, making her odds for an appeal extremely low. She comes across as cold, uncaring, and as though she feels superior to everyone there.

Victoria was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, torture and first-degree child abuse. She was sentenced to 27 to 50 years in prison for the torture and child abuse charges, and 5 to 15 years for the manslaughter charged. Mr. Rimson convicted of involuntary manslaughter and second-degree child abuse. He was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison on the manslaughter charge and 5 to 10 years concurrently on the child abuse charge. The judge was dismayed she could not sentence Foster to life in prison. The jury opted for involuntary manslaughter instead of felony first degree murder, which would have made her eligible for life in prison. It remains to be seen what will happen with Tiffany's case and how she will fair in general population should she find herself there.

The girl who shot Even Cochran Stout Jr?

If you don't live in Oklahoma, chances are you've seen Tiffany Wesley on The First 48 Hours, episode Love, Hate & A Soldier's Life (video embedded below). Evan was found shot in the head in his car. It didn't take long to realize he'd been shot while facing forward in the seat from the right hand or passenger side of the car. Tiffany clearly hadn't planned to kill him since she lost a shoe running away and dropped her telephone and other things with her name on them.

During her police interview she said she had shot out the passenger window hoping to gain the attention of the police because Evan was allegedly abusing her and said he was going to kill her and that when she shot him he was looking for his gun in the console. One of the officers makes the point that if her story were in fact true, he would have been shot in the face or forehead, but that he had been looking forward at the the time of the shooting since he was shot in the side of his head. Evan was declared braindead after the shooting. Tanikka West and Angela Friday performed CPR on Evan Stout Jr. after they found him shot in the head. While their efforts were heroic, he died on Sunday.

You can view Evan's burial details here

Tiffany has entered a plea deal where she plead guilty to first degree manslaughter, which is when someone unintentionally kills another person either in the commission of a misdemeanor, in the “heat of passion” or in an attempt to resist a crime. This charge requires a minimum prison sentence of four years with at least 85% of the time being served. As part of the agreement, she received 10 years. This means she will at least serve 8.5 years on that charge. She had a previous charge of possession with a controlled substance with intent to distrubute. She was also charged with possession of a firearm while on probation.

Obviously adult criminal court always tries to make a plea deal or the courts could run twenty four hours a day for years and never be empty. It would be hard to prove it was a premeditated murder since the scene was clearly chaotic, meaning she didn't have much intent of getting away with it. Evan's family is left to mourn. Losing a child is a terrible thing that one never really gets over, they simply get through it, sometimes on a daily basis.
